    At the Regional consultation on prisons and health held in Copenhagen 3–4 November , the Regional Office and the UK Collaborating Centre for Health in Prisons Programme, together with the University of Oxford, plan to launch a new research strategy and framework for prison health: the WHO/Europe Prison Health Research and Engagement Network. The importance of recognising that prison health issues are a constituent part of public health has important organisational implications. One of these is the need to ensure that prison administered health services have links that are as a close as possible with public health. In ICPS organised a seminar to discuss the policy and practical consequences of this principle.
